SCARA robot four DOF with coverOur SCARA robots can be used individually and flexibly. It has four degrees of freedom and can be equipped with or without a control system. The SCARA can be used for applications with a precision requirement of 0.5mm with a load of up to 2kg and can be individually adjusted in the Z-stroke. As standard, the Z-stroke can be designed to measure up to 3000mm. This type of robot is typically used at cycle times of > 30 picks/minute. The suitable igus robot control software can be downloaded free of charge in advance and is optionally available as a version with control system in the switch cabinet or as a top-hat (DIN) rail version. Our SCARA robots consist largely of our tribologically optimised plastics and enable significant cost savings. At the same time, a long service life and freedom from maintenance are offered.
Application examplesTypical applications of our SCARA robots include pick and place applications, conveyor belt picking and loading processes.
Robot control system for an easy entry into automationThe SCARA is compatible with
igus® Robot Control for SCARA robots. The igus® Robot Control enables a simple and intuitive ystem for robot control and programming, making it
easy to get started with automation. The modular design makes it possible to control various igus kinematics, such as delta robots. The delta robot can be controlled directly with all its advantages using our igus® Robot Control .
The free-of-charge, licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus makes use of a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This means
less project planning effort and
faster commissioning.
The igus® Robot Control is not a component of the part and can optionally be purchased from us. A master control system is not necessary.
If you want to use your own (robot) control system, that's no problem either.
Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a control system. For example, with our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. With this control architecture, you need one motor control system per linear axis or motor and an additional master control system, which controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself on your development environment.
The motor control systems are not a component of the part and can be ordered from us as an option. Master control system is currently not offered by igus.
